Controversy in the Ghetto was conducted in Ciudad Escolar Libertad (Student Freedom Center), a former military headquarters during the regime of dictator Fulgencio Batista, which was converted into a school complex at the triumph of the Cuban Revolution. The intervention consists of carrying out the repairs of three bathrooms in three schools, including the replacement of washbasins, toilets, tiles, pipes, and doing electrical and carpentry work. The motifs on the new tiles were drawn from photos of the deteriorating conditions of the bathrooms, and archive documents that tell part of the site’s history.
