The intervention Flash Over the Rune was conducted in the first Cuban Jewish Cemetery. It was constructed on the slopes around Guanabacoa just outside of Havana between 1906-1910. This cemetery once extended across both sides of the nearby railway line, but it was radically reduced in size after the Revolution. Flash Over the Rune consisted of the construction of a marble tomb for the Old Man Rabbi Samuel Nisembaum who died in 1995; his family didn’t have the economic means to build such a memorial.
